Loss of Building Heritage

According to Department of Canadian Heritage statistics, in the 30 years from 1970-2000 Canada has lost between 21 and 23 per cent of its historic building stock and that unfortunate trend continues unabated.

Stained glass windows are a significant part of our cultural heritage and they too continue to deteriorate and disappear. A significant reason for this situation is a general lack of awareness. With these pages we wish to provide useful information for owners and proprietors of Canada's stained glass and to help them move towards the conservation and preservation of our national treasures.
